Pollution is a “painful” situation nowadays. This situation is caused by human socio-economic development activities, which have been taking place all over the world, not only in developing countries but also in the global scale. It is threatening human health and life as well as destroying the planet’s ecology.
Our country is a developing country and now we are in national industrialization and modernization process. Alongside with the process of urbanization, the environmental pollution problem is increasing due to living activities as well as amount of waste and dust from untreated factories discharged directly into the surrounding environment such as soil, water and air. Vietnam is currently facing extremely serious levels of air and water pollution. In addition to the above consequences, Vietnam also has to face climate change, which causes saltwater intrusion, drought and floods. This also threatens national food security and changes the country’s thousand-year-old wet-rice agricultural ecosystem.
Environmental & Resources Management Major not only solves and studies current pollution problems but also researches towards the future of mankind. As the world’s population increases rapidly, environmental security is one of the leading criteria of people in the future.
The Environmental & Resources Management Major of Nguyen Tat Thanh University was built with the goal of training qualified human resources to serve society at the present time and in the future.
The quality of the curriculum and the professional faculty are the leading criteria of the Environmental & Resources Management Major. Studying for this major, students will join many practical and field-based programs such as experience and career orientation programs in Can Gio mangrove forests, community-based rural environmental assessment program in Con Chim hamlet, Hoa Minh commune, Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province.
The curriculum of the Environmental & Resources Management Major is designed variously, helping future bachelors to be equipped with basic and professional knowledge.

- Environmental & Resources Management
- Community Environmental Education
The field of Environmental Technology focuses on studying key subjects such as:
- Environmental Monitoring & Environmental Hydraulics.
- Microbiological Technology & Environmental Analytical Chemistry.
- Air and Noise Pollution Control & Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Treatment of water supply & industrial wastewater.
- Treatment systems of wastewater, water supply, solid waste, hazardous waste, exhaust gas, contaminated soil and sludge.
- Clean technology.
The field of Environmental & Resources Management focuses on studying key subjects such as:
- Environmental Planning & Environmental Management System
- Environmental Quality Management & Environmental Policy
- Analysis of environmental management system & Assessment of environmental risks and impacts.
- Law & Economics of natural resources and environment
Environmental Education for the Community in rural areas is one of the highlights that can only be found in the Environmental & Resources Management Major of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
Students will learn foundational knowledge through subjects such as:
- Climate Change & Sustainable Energy
- Forest Resource Management and Biodiversity & Environmental Ecology
- Urban and industrial environment protection & Cleaner production
- Environmental resources and biodiversity

- Office and specialized informatics: AutoCad, GIS, MapInfor.
- Communicative English & Environmental English with the output standard TOEIC 400.
